Permaculture Techniques - Useful Animals in a Permaculture System Frogs A homeschooling group came and did a frog survey on our block and reported that they found five different varieties. Unfortunately I didn't collect the information from them... One day I'll do my own survey and learn the names of the different frogs that keep us company! In the early years of living here we didn't notice frogs much at all. There was odd frog nestled between tree seedling tubes disturbed when we lifted the tubes out for planting. After we had installed several small frog ponds - shallow holes dug and lined with black plastic, surrounded by rocks and filled with suitable water plants - frogs began to become a regular feature of our night and day soundscape. Coming home is always heralded by the happy calls of several frogs in all seasons. Harvest: None required. back to Animals
